With a unique approach to design comes a unique studio to practice your craft. Salford based design studio Raw has a collaborative approach to their work, always listening and learning. A wide open two story floor plan and a white board wall compliment Raw’s space with a great atmosphere for the studio to bounce ideas around. Setting up camp in an old cotton spinning mill, the engine room to be precise, Raw’s building has an industrial revolution aesthetic about it. The massive high windows illuminate the place while the giant whiteboard tugs at the strings of my heart. I’m pretty sure I want to live in Raw’s studio.
Raw was asked to create the identity for BBC Philharmonic’s 2011-2012 season that would reflect their progressive and inspirational performances. Collaborating with Salford-based digital artist Andrew Brooks, Raw was able to capture the essence of the orchestra’s music through forward thinking design.
